ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – The Tompkins County Recovery Advisory Committee holds its first full meeting.
Members spoke with consultants who are helping with the process of distributing American Rescue Plan Act funds from start to finish. The committee and the group discussed the work ahead, including determining and tweaking eligibility, criteria for a points ranking system, and methods to include qualitative consideration for applicants.
Although there’s much work to be done, Director of Economic Development at MRB Group Michael N’dolo hopes to be ready for applications by September.
He’s hoping that qualified awardees can be funded by the end of the year. Additional rounds of funding are possible if not all the money is distributed in the initial round. The MRB Group will help the committee process and score applicants based on jointly agreed upon criteria and then submit to the full county legislature for consideration.
