MRB Group Engineering, Architecture & Surveying, D.P.C. is seeking qualified Construction Observers to oversee the construction of improvements to water distribution systems, sewer collection systems, pump stations, subdivision roads, and drainage facilities. Minimum qualifications include 7-10 years of utility and site construction experience. The successful candidate will be familiar with construction documents and will be responsible for ensuring that the construction conforms to the information presented in these documents. Knowledge of the Phase II stormwater requirements, building construction, and concrete work is a plus. Mechanical, plumbing, and electrical knowledge are also helpful. Individual should be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills a must.

Site/Civil Engineer

We are currently seeking a Site/Civil Engineer. Candidate will work with our planning and municipal services group, providing support on subdivision and site plan reviews, planning board activities, general planning services, and SWPPP/site inspections. Minimum qualifications include a planning or civil engineering-related degree with a minimum of 3-5 years experience. Some of the skills that would be desired for this position include a strong knowledge of site plan design, proficiency in stormwater and hydraulic calculations, familiarity with State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR), NYSDEC and MS4 stormwater regulations, comprehensive plans, and zoning regulations. Candidate should be proficient in Word and Excel and have excellent writing skills. AutoCAD or GIS skills would be a plus. Successful candidates will be self-starters with good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Individual may also be expected to represent the firm in meetings and conferences with clients, regulatory agencies, and officials of other organizations.

Administrative Assistant

We are currently seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to support our Rochester office. Must have excellent writing and proofreading skills and have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.  Must also be professional, a self-starter, creative, reliable, flexible and customer-focused with good phone skills.  Person must be prepared to wear multiple hats and be eager to help where needed; strong ability to handle multiple tasks is crucial.  Positive attitude and being a team player are essential. Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and 3+ years of administrative experience preferred. Prior experience in either engineering, marketing or technical/construction related positions would be a plus.

Intermediate/Senior Architect

We are currently seeking a qualified Intermediate/Senior Architect to join our team in either our Rochester or Syracuse office. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, efficient, keen to quality output, and possess the organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines. They should also have excellent communication skills and a thorough knowledge of relevant codes, operations, processes, and trends. A demonstrated ability to mentor and manage junior staff and maintain client relationships is desired.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Production lead/technical assistance on a variety of public and private projects.
  • Develop projects from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Manage junior staff production and schedule
  • Communicate with and manage select client types.
  • Assist the Department Manager, as required.
  • Review building codes to assure that design complies with the current code standards.
  • Capable and willing to work on multiple project types.

Skills Required:

  • Technical proficiency in the following is required: AutoCAD and/or Revit proficiency, Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp, or other rendering software is a plus.

Educational / Experience Requirement:
Qualified applicants should have 7-10+ years of experience; bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited architectural school; Licensed Architect preferred, but not a requirement.

Team Leader / Project Manager
We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader/Project Manager to join our team.

Candidate will be responsible for client and project development, client interaction, and client meetings. The individual will represent the firm in meetings and conferences with clients, regulatory agencies, and officials of other organizations. Candidate must have experience and background with civil engineering disciplines and especially water and wastewater conveyance and treatment or utility/infrastructure design. Team Leader/Project Manager will develop projects with clients and then will be involved in the oversight and management of the design and construction of those projects while maintaining client contact. Only candidates with the ability to apply advanced engineering techniques and demonstrate exceptional problem solving and communication skills will be considered. Public speaking and interactions with clients, politicians, and municipal officials will be expected. Licensure is required with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
