MRB Group Celebrates Excellence in Public Works at APWA New York Chapter Annual Awards Banquet
MRB Group was proud to attend the APWA New York Chapter Annual Awards Banquet on March 20, 2025. This event recognizes outstanding achievements in public works and celebrates professionals dedicated to improving communities through innovative projects. The American Public Works Association (APWA) serves professionals across all aspects of public works, distinguishing itself as an effective advocate for the industry. With a global membership exceeding 32,000, APWA unites individuals from local, county, state, and federal agencies, along with private sector professionals who support public works initiatives.

Myron Calkins Young Leader of the Year Award
MRB Group’s Associate Engineer II, Corey Hurley, was honored with the Myron Calkins Young Leader of the Year Award. This prestigious award recognizes young APWA members who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the profession and the association, showcasing leadership and potential for future growth. Congratulations, Corey, on this well-deserved recognition!
Structures – Small Cities/Rural Communities Project of the Year
We commend the Town of Sardinia, Town Supervisor, Beverly Gambino, Emilio Moran, P.E., Engineer III at MRB Group, Wolfe Architecture, PLLC, and Horizon Masonry Restoration, Inc. for their exceptional work on the Veterans Memorial Park Improvements Project. This project received the Structures – Small Cities/Rural Communities Project of the Year Award, a testament to its creativity, ingenuity, and positive impact on the community.
Transportation – Small Cities/Rural Communities Project of the Year
A well-earned congratulations to the Town of Bristol, Greg Hotaling, P.E., Principal at MRB Group, Highway Superintendent Ron Wilson, and the Town of Bristol Highway Department for their outstanding work on the Egypt Road Slope Stability Improvements Project. This project was recognized with the Transportation – Small Cities/Rural Communities APWA NYS Chapter Project of the Year Award, highlighting its excellence in enhancing infrastructure resilience and safety.
