Michael Doody, CPA, to Succeed Kevin Park as MRB Group CFO

July 8, 2024

MRB Group President and CEO Ryan Colvin, PE, recently announced that Michael Doody, CPA, will be joining the firm to serve as its new Chief Financial Officer. Doody will replace longtime CFO Kevin Park, who plans to retire from his 25-year career with MRB Group in July.

Doody is leaving a substantial role as Partner at EFPR Group, LLP, where he previously managed MRB Group’s tax matters, supporting the firm’s financial health as a consultant.
“No one is better suited to take the helm as CFO at MRB Group,” said Colvin, who has personally worked with Doody for a number of years.

“Kevin Park’s shoes would be a challenge for anyone to fill,” Colvin continued, “but Michael has the knowledge, capability, and, most importantly, a unique familiarity with the firm that makes him a perfect fit.”

“We anticipated a long and arduous search process to find the right skill set to meet some very high expectations set by working for all these years with Kevin. His history with MRB Group has included financial leadership through our significant and rapid growth,” Colvin said.

“Not that long ago, we were a small firm serving a Rochester-centric client base, growing over the past 15 years into a multi-million-dollar national firm, serving clients in multiple states. Our position has been substantially strengthened with Kevin’s guidance,” Colvin stated. “His combination of discipline, meticulous planning, and embracing innovation supported our growth, and we will always be grateful for his leadership and dedication to MRB Group.”

“Michael’s expertise is exceptionally high caliber, and he has also been a partner to MRB Group’s success. We quickly realized that the natural choice to succeed Kevin has been with us all along. We’re fortunate to have Michael begin a new, enhanced relationship with MRB Group by taking the reigns as CFO,” Colvin said.

Doody’s history with EFPR Group has also spanned 26 years of growth and evolution. His accounting career began at EFP, an earlier iteration of the firm, immediately after graduating from Le Moyne College with his BS in Accounting in 1997. He became licensed by New York State as a Certified Public Accountant in 2000, and quickly advanced to a Management role, becoming a Partner in 2008. His leadership at EFPR has generated strong relationships with some of the region’s top CFOs, who hold him in high esteem as a thought leader in the financial and tax industry.

“Michael commands the respect of those he works with. He has been a contributor to the strength of the MRB Group team. Now, he’s joining the team, assuming a significant leadership role as CFO. We are confident he will help guide MRB Group’s continued growth and stellar success for years to come,” Colvin stated.

“I am extremely excited about what the future holds for MRB Group, and the opportunity to work more closely with Ryan and his team,” Doody stated. “I have been consistently impressed with the trajectory of the firm and its strong leadership,” he said.

“It’s an honor to succeed Kevin Park’s distinguished career at MRB Group, and I look forward to continuing his legacy of outstanding support and dedication,” Doody concluded.
