Erie County IDA Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy
MRB Group was engaged by the Erie County Industrial Development Agency (ECIDA) to plan for a more equitable and sustainable future with a new Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), including a special look at economic resiliency and inclusion. Our team, alongside Prospect Hill Consulting, worked with ECIDA and its partners to create a strategy that will generate economic progress over the next five years while simultaneously addressing economic recovery and access to opportunity throughout the County. Areas of focus include infrastructure modernization, business and industry support, enhancing quality of life, and regional collaboration. The final CEDS was adopted in July 2022 and was instrumental in in Buffalo’s successful EDA Build Back Better bid, resulting in an approximately $25m award to invest in distressed neighborhoods and accelerate advanced manufacturing in Western NY.
Following completion of the CEDS, ECIDA further engaged MRB Group to launch and facilitate an implementation committee. The committee is intended to provide for continued communication among key implementation partners and ensure ongoing progress toward accomplishing the strategy’s goals.
