MRB Group Helps Clients Secure Five for Five in State EPG Awards

August 6, 2025

We’re excited to announce that on August 6, 2025, Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) announced approximately $3.3 million in Wastewater Infrastructure Engineering Planning Grants (EPG) for 59 sewer projects statewide. These grants fund engineering planning necessary to prepare for Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) financing and capital investments.

In this round, MRB Group submitted five EPG applications on behalf of:

  • Rushville

  • Huron
  • Avon
  • Perry
  • Morrisville

We’re thrilled to share that all five were funded—a full-house success!

Spotlight on Sofia Schuller & the MRB Grants Team

These were the first grant applications led by Sofia Schuller, a talented and dedicated member of MRB Group’s Grants Team. Sofia’s meticulous approach, clear communication, and collaborative coordination with municipal partners played a major role in achieving 100% funding success across all four projects.

A heartfelt congratulations to Sofia for her outstanding debut and to the team for demonstrating why MRB Group remains a trusted partner in grant planning and application excellence.

What This Success Means for Municipal Clients

  • Engineering planning grants like EPG are critical first steps—they fund engineering reports and feasibility studies that position municipalities for larger infrastructure financing through the CWSRF efc.ny.gov+1.

  • Winning five grants for five different communities underscores MRB Group’s experience, process expertise, and strategic grant-writing success rate.

  • Our Grants Team stays closely aligned with engineering and municipal staff to craft proposals that meet program goals while addressing local priorities.

Congratulations Again to Rushville, Huron, Avon & Perry

We thank our municipal clients for their partnership and commend their vision in investing in long-term water quality and infrastructure resilience. MRB Group looks forward to seeing these planning efforts transform into sustainable capital improvements.
