Wheatley Elementary School & Edwards Academy Enhancements
Temple ISD selected MRB Group as one of three architectural firms to partner on their $164.8 million bond projects. This project includes renovations to the Wheatley Alternative Education Center and Edwards Academy in Temple, Texas.
The District has requested:
- Upgrades to the restrooms at both campuses to meet ADA compliance.
- A new fire sprinkler system at Edwards Academy.
- New windows and window shades at Edwards Academy.
- New marquee signage at Edwards Academy.
- Updated lighting throughout both campuses.
- Finished material upgrades at both campuses.
- Security vestibule at the Wheatley campus.
- New office space at the Wheatley campus.
The MRB Group design team worked closely with CMAR contractor Emerson Construction to define the scope and affordable tasks throughout the design process.
Designing and scheduling a variety of additional alternatives was expected and was a part of the overall design process for the District to spend the allocated funds for these campuses appropriately.
MRB architectural and engineering services included Site & Pre-Design, Schematics, Design, Construction Documents, Bidding, and Construction Administration.
