South Bristol Highway Garage
MRB Group collaborated with officials and staff of the Town of South Bristol over a two-year project schedule to replace its aged highway garage with a new,
modern 13,000 sf facility.
Special consideration was given to siting the new structure on the existing highway campus in a manner that would maximize site utilization, better support general highway department operational needs, and minimize interference with ongoing operations during construction.
The new building was designed with interior fire-rated walls, allowing the town to avoid the additional expense of a costly new water supply source, which would be required for an automatic fire suppression system.
Design considerations included providing space for future growth, as well as utilizing materials that will reduce long-term maintenance costs and increase energy efficiency.
