Highway 79 Rehab/Downtown Revitalization
MRB Group performed a Feasibility Study for the City of Rockdale to determine adjustments to US Highway 79 for business access and pedestrian safety. One caveat to the project was that existing structures’ historic architecture and styles were to be maintained.
MRB Group staff prepared and submitted the application and secured a TxDOT Transportation Alternatives grant for the sidewalk portion of the project. The roadway portion covers 2.6 miles of Highway 79 and traverses the heart of downtown Rockdale – a collaborative effort with TxDOT. MRB Group also obtained TxDOT environmental clearance.
