City of Temple Service Center Expansion
The City of Temple’s “Building A,” located in the City’s Service Center, is utilized by multiple City departments. Because of staffing and space requirements, the need for space was constantly changing. The building was designed with future expansion in mind, with the west end left open for this addition.
The original plan was to add approximately 7,500 square feet to the building and lightly renovate the existing building at an estimated cost of $2.2 million. The project was halted in September of 2021. When it was reinstated in May of 2022, the City had reassessed its needs and direction forward and decided to fully build out the remaining site of approximately 10,500 square feet, as well as renovate the 13,000 square feet of existing space to bring the 20-year-old building to a more current aesthetic and match the new level of finishes. The revised budget of $5.2 million will allow the City to provide for its staff and constituents’ current and future needs.
