Hear from our interns.
My time as an intern at MRB Group has proven to be an invaluable experience as I work toward my civil engineering career goals. The team in Texas has continually impressed me with their willingness to invest their time in helping me succeed here. I have gained firsthand experience in the various stages of multiple projects, including design, site visits, and plan production. I am grateful to have spent my summer contributing to meaningful work and investing in my future.

As an intern for MRB Group, I earned pivotal experience in waterline design, bidding, and construction, including much information about the potable, wastewater, and irrigation waterline processes. MRB Group welcomed me from the start; I received a supportive mentor and an amazing team of coworkers who consistently gave me advice and new knowledge in the field of civil engineering. It was a great pleasure to gain real-world experience and industry insights from such an engaged group of professionals, and I am grateful to have taken my first steps in my career with MRB Group.

Interning here at MRB Group has taught me so much that I wouldn't be able to get just by going to school. I've gathered so much information that I'm eager to use in my last year of grad school and for starting a career in interior design and architecture. And most importantly, I feel that everyone truly wants me to learn and for me to have a meaningful and informative experience during my internship. It's been truly amazing working here this summer.

During my internship, I gained rich and valuable experience working on various aspects of both public and private projects, including work for local governments. This gave me exposure to a wide range of challenges and helped me grow professionally. What truly made the internship stand out was the team. The Architecture team at MRB Group welcomed me from day one, and I had the opportunity to work alongside talented and supportive professionals. I’m thankful for everything I’ve learned here. I’m grateful for the experience and look forward to continuing to grow and work with MRB Group in the future.

MRB Provided me with numerous opportunities to learn and grow as a young professional. I was able to gain experience on different wastewater and water resources projects. My time accelerated my learning in areas including drafting, design, and analysis. MRB has a great team environment and does passionate work.

My internship with MRB Group gave me invaluable experience in civil engineering. I was given opportunities to work on both field assignments and assist with design projects, allowing me to grow my skills while understanding how both sides connect in real practice. From the beginning of my internship, people here wanted me to succeed and were always willing to teach, answer questions, and trust me with meaningful work.

As an intern at MRB Group I was able to work part-time, while also attending my last semester at RIT. I learned so much about water and wastewater treatment in the 5 months that I interned, and I was able to gain many skills from hands-on work. Everyone took time to explain and teach me about topics I was unfamiliar with, and it was clear that they wanted me to succeed. The real-world experience that I’ve gained at MRB Group has been incomparable to anywhere else. I’m so glad that I was able to have this opportunity as it will help me greatly down the line.

MRB Group provided me the opportunity to intern with zero experience outside of school. Over a summer with MRB, I learned the basic water & wastewater processes in the office and through treatment plant visits in the field. I acquired base knowledge of surveying, Civil 3D software, and how to conduct professional structural culvert inspections all of which came through mentored experiences on actual MRB projects. Despite all the good learned and character built, the invaluable part of MRB is the people. Since day 1, everybody has been inclusive with open arms. MRB is filled with awesome people that make work feel less like work. Writing this as a now full-time engineer with MRB Group, I can say my opinion hasn’t changed a bit. We also have a great softball team!
Paul S.Rochester Institute of Technology
As an intern at MRB Group, I gained valuable insight into the everyday life and responsibilities of an engineer. I was immersed in hands-on experience right from the start and felt like I fit right in. This opportunity proved to be the best teacher for me and enhanced many of the skills I had learned in my engineering classes in school. I am very excited to work here full-time, knowing I picked the best company for me.
James W.Rochester Institute of Technology
My internship with MRB Group provided me with meaningful experience in several fields and I was given opportunities to contribute to a variety of projects. Through advancing my GIS skills and contributing to planning initiatives via mapping, public engagement, attending Town/Village board meetings, and more, my time with MRB Group was an incredible learning experience. I am so grateful to have interned for such a welcoming and supportive firm and am excited to apply the skills I have learned here to the rest of my education as well as my future career.
Sierra D.SUNY Geneseo
My 8-month internship with MRB Group was one of the most productive and educational experiences I've had in civil engineering. The real-world exposure to both design and construction was truly invaluable as a student.
