Collaborative Grant Success: Dansville and Waterloo Earn Nearly $5M in NBRC Awards
MRB Group is proud to recognize two of our municipal partners—the Village of Dansville and the Village of Waterloo—who were recently awarded nearly $5 million in funding from the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC). These grants, secured through the Commission’s Spring 2025 Catalyst Program, represent transformative investments in infrastructure and community development.
This achievement is also a moment of celebration for MRB Group’s grants team, including Emily and Abby, who prepared the successful applications on behalf of each community. Their collaborative efforts with municipal leaders helped bring these complex proposals to life and ultimately secure this highly competitive funding.
In total, New York State received $12.3 million from NBRC in this round—and Dansville and Waterloo’s projects account for nearly 40% of that total.
-
Village of Dansville: Awarded $1,979,586, Dansville’s project will construct a new public sewer extension, install ADA-accessible playground equipment, and improve pedestrian infrastructure such as sidewalks and a walking trail. These enhancements will support the expansion of Noyes Memorial Hospital and a future YMCA, while also improving safety and recreational access for residents.
-
Village of Waterloo: Awarded $3,000,000, Waterloo’s project includes storm sewer improvements, enhanced drainage, new sidewalks, and upgraded curbing to address chronic flooding and support the village’s broader downtown revitalization goals. This funding complements Waterloo’s recent $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) award and further positions the village for long-term sustainability.
These awards reflect the vision and commitment of local leadership in both communities. We’re honored to support their efforts—not only through infrastructure planning and design—but also through the strategic development of funding opportunities that help move projects forward.
At MRB Group, our work is rooted in strengthening communities. We congratulate Dansville and Waterloo on their success and look forward to seeing these impactful projects take shape.
