MRB Group President Ryan Colvin, P.E., recently announced that Juan Moran Lopez, P.E., has joined the firm’s Austin engineering team. He is a Civil Engineer III and will be supporting clients throughout the Central Texas region.
“With a growing need for support for critical water infrastructure, Juan’s experience with the Texas Water Development Board as an Engineer and Water Loss Specialist will be a great resource for local governments and utility districts,” said Colvin.
Lopez also has worked for the City of Austin Watershed Protection Department as an Environmental Engineering Associate. He has a M.S.E. degree from the University of Texas and a B.S. degree from Virginia Tech.
“Juan’s additional specialized focus on water quality will also contribute to project and client services across the firm as a whole,” Colvin continued, sharing that many of New York’s local governments are facing more stringent regulatory requirements.
“This is a challenging time to be shepherding critical resources,” Colvin continued. “For those who operate and maintain water and wastewater systems, financial support is decreasing while costs are increasing,” he said.
“MRB Group supports municipalities and districts who must address environmental concerns and meet regulatory requirements in the most efficient way,” Colvin continued.
“Without guidance in best practices, modern technology, and effective engineering, the risk for inefficiency is high,” Colvin said. “This drives up the costs. Juan will be a great resource for support to operators and decision-makers who must fund water and wastewater systems,” he stated.
MRB Group has served communities throughout New York State for more than 90 years, and in Texas since 2000, providing engineering, architecture, and municipal services to support and strengthen local governments and utility districts.
The firm currently works with more than 150 cities, towns, villages and counties in New York and Central Texas, providing long term strategic planning and economic development services, as well as assisting with management of critical resources and day-to-day operations, like water and wastewater treatment. MRB Group supports public works functions, provides architecture for maintenance and rehabilitation of public facilities, and advises municipal staff and planning boards to support strategic community development.
