MRB Group President and CEO Ryan Colvin, PE, recently announced that several new engineers and planners have joined the firm to make 2021 a year of record growth.
“Our workload and staffing have been steadily increasing,” said Colvin, who pointed out that despite the challenges many businesses faced in 2020 and 2021, the demand for MRB Group’s expertise has never lessened.
“Our municipal clients are in greater need of support and services,” Colvin continued.
“Our offices in Charleston will soon be doubled in both physical size and in staffing, as a result of growth over the past year,” Colvin said, noting the addition of four individuals to the team there, with more to come.
“Our Temple, Texas, office was relocated to a much larger space that we designed and renovated, transforming a large property in the City’s downtown business district,” Colvin stated. He said that several new people and a Southwest Area Manager were added to Texas teams in the last six months alone.
“As our expansion continues, we are actively recruiting professionals who want to join a dynamic, fast-paced and exciting environment,” said Colvin.
In Rochester, Mackenzie Delaney recently joined the firm to support construction observation and will support wastewater and water projects. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management Engineering Technology.
Leah Hamilton is joining the Rochester staff as a Local Government Services Manager. She is a former Workforce Development Coordinator and Public Library Administrator, and is currently obtaining her Masters degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She will support the Municipal Services group in the Rochester, Finger Lakes, and Syracuse offices.
“Leah’s background in municipal and public service organizations will provide insight that will be valuable to local government leaders looking for opportunities to improve management capacity and increase the efficiency of municipal services,” Colvin said.
In the firm’s Syracuse office, Nick Balduzzi recently joined the civil engineering team to support projects with drafting and design, surveying, and transportation inspection. With a Bachelor of Science degree from the SUNY Poly Institute, Nick is a Syracuse-area native.
Also working in Syracuse are Jared Shepard and Tracey Verrier, both members of the SmarterLocalGov team providing municipal services and support. Shepard will provide clients with economic development research and assistance as a Senior Planning Associate. A graduate of the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, Jared’s background includes modeling and analysis of economic impacts, financial forecasting, labor and market research, and many other forms of economic development and local government support.
Verrier will work with client communities on key projects as a Senior Economic Analyst. The former Executive Director of Cayuga Strategic Solutions, a joint venture of the Cayuga County Development Agency and Chamber of Commerce, Verrier has significant experience providing economic development and organizational leadership. She has worked extensively with local governments, federal and state agencies, businesses, and multiple economic development organizations to form collaborative relationships and coordinate critical business development projects.
