In less than two years after establishing the initial footprint of the Charleston, South Carolina office of MRB Group, the firm has expanded its physical footprint to meet the needs of its growing team of engineers, architects, planners, and municipal consultants. Located at 134 Meeting Street in downtown Charleston, the firm moved suites to allow additional space for new professionals.

Eric Cooper joins MRB Group as a Senior Planning Associate from Niagara Falls, New York. He most recently served as the Director of Planning and Executive Director of the Niagara Falls Urban Renewal Agency. Eric will help communities across the state create comprehensive, corridor, and district plans. In addition, his knowledge of administering and improving local zoning and subdivision ordinances will help communities in the South Carolina region align their development regulations with their growth plans. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Government with a minor in economics from St. Lawrence University.

Britton Corbin, PE, also joins the Charleston, South Carolina office as a Senior Project Manager. With over 20 years of experience in the design and management of civil infrastructure projects throughout South Carolina, Britton brings a wealth of knowledge. Britton will provide design and project management services to assist municipal clients with their infrastructure needs. Britton worked with local entities, including the South Carolina Port Authority and Charleston County Airport Authority. He earned his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from The Citadel and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Clemson University.

“The SC office has benefitted greatly this year from the communities that entrusted us to assist them with their engineering, architecture, and municipal service needs. Working with these communities has allowed us to add additional professionals and increase our physical footprint in the Lowcountry,” said Heather Simmons Jones, Director of Southeast Operations. “Adding top-level talents such as Eric and Britton allows us to serve our clients with the highest level of professional acumen and customer service.”
