County Road  30 – Water Quality Improvement Area

A study completed in 2006 by MRB Group and the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Council identified a number of potential areas for improvements in the watershed that would address downstream flooding, improve water quality, and enhance the habitat value for surrounding areas.  Among them was County Road 30, in the Town of Canandaigua.

The Town of Canandaigua selected MRB Group to evaluate and design a regional facility which initally spanned two separate parcels, is approximately 20 acres in size, located near the Canandaigua Airport, and attenuates stormwater flows from a watershed area which is approximately 2,800 acres.

In addition to the site evaluation and design of the proposed improvements, MRB Group provided technical support for permitting applications to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and the US Army Corps of Engineers, hydraulic modelling which analyzed  existing and proposed drainage flows,  documentation for the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan and Notice of Intent (NOI), and development of construction documents for the Town of Canandaigua Town forces.  MRB Group also coordinated the field delineation of wetlands, Phase IA/IB Cultural Resource Investigation, site survey, and parcel subdivision
